JAMES GONZÁLEZ
Mr. González is a Principal at Verum with over 20 years of corporate development and corporate finance experience in Silicon Valley and Latin America. He has assisted clients with market research, market expansion initiatives, and transaction diligence. Verum's customer base comprises investment firms and operating entities, including small businesses.
Before Verum, Mr. González was Senior Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at EVERTEC, where he assisted Apollo and EVERTEC during the transition from a captive entity to an independent entity focused on expanding in Latin America. He identified, approached, and evaluated over 100 potential partners in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, México, Panamá, Perú, and Uruguay.
Previously, he was Senior Director of Strategy and Corporate Development at Hewlett-Packard, where he executed over $1B in M&A transactions in the software, services, and enterprise server and storage markets. During his 10-year tenure at HP, Mr. González also managed a $3B fixed income portfolio and supported a $4B share repurchase program.
Mr. González was also a Director of Corporate Development at Brocade Communications, where he helped develop a prioritized investment plan for emerging technologies that led to multiple minority equity investments and the company's first acquisition.
Mr. González serves as a Trustee at Saint John's School, where he was Treasurer of the Board from 2013-2015 and Chair of the Technology Committee from 2012-2014. He is also a mentor of the Founder Institute.
He earned an MBA from Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
